Auction #216 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 977 in auction 216
Item Description
4x7". Large mount stereopticon card from "Cook Ely, Photographer" in "Racine, Wisconsin". Image features a meeting hall with prominent "Grant & Wilson" banner hovering over a large flag that encompasses the stage. The stage also features oval portraits of Washington, Lincoln and Grant as well as a large piano and a second banner reading "Grant & Wilson". A spectacular view of an early political rally. Full length vertical surface break most noticeable on reverse. The card remains structurally sound but when pressure is applied it will bend at the reverse partial break. This is virtually unnoticeable from the front and the card remains Fine and displays Exc.
