Item Description
4.5" and 8" long. First is listed as USG-15 and features an oval portrait and perched eagle with spread wings above text reads "General Grant Our Next President". Some bleeding of the red in the American flag motif otherwise only light toning at extreme edges. Silvered brass hanger retains 85% of its original luster. VG. Second is from Grant's first inauguration and is listed as USG-I1 in Sullivan/Fischer. Striking design including: detailed portrait in a wreath dotted with flowers; a large perched eagle holding a banner reading "E. Pluribus Unum" and crossed American flags below text reading "Lieutenant General U.S. Grant". Loss at top and bottom affecting the word "Richmond" and the lower most section of the crossed flags. Also a 1/4x1/2" light brown stain just left of portrait. Despite flaws still bright and displayable. Good. Don & Mildred Wright Collection.
