Item Description
From 1947, this is an unauthorized 3-1/8" tall unpainted white metal figure w/traces of silver luster. Figure was made by H & B Toys of NJ. Only two known examples of this rare figure dubbed in the hobby as "Robe Boy." Metal shows tiny fatigue lines on the right arm and all over the lower half of body and base. Rear of right leg has actual 1/8" long narrow opening in the metal surface w/similar 3/8" long hairline gap on base between the feet. Left side of head has 1/8" dia. hole on the mold seam line, likely as made. Tiny nose is a bit flattened, mouth is a small recessed area, a bit off-center. Other details of head, body and uniform are well formed. Overall metal shows aging but unbroken and w/some original luster. A true rarity. Shown in the second edition of Hake's Guide To Character Toys on page 199, #CMR-83. Listed vaules are $1,500/2,500/5,000.
