Item Description
Green Lantern is one of the most important heroes to emerge from the Golden Age. He was one of the few heroes at DC to get his own title. The quarterly lasted until 1949. The cover art is by Howard Purcell. The book features a re-telling of the Lantern’s origin. It also has art by the creator of Green Lantern, Martin Nodell and several stories by Bill Finger (who helped flesh out Nodell’s original concept). A charter member of the Justice Society, Lantern also appeared in Comic Cavalcade and All-American Comics. The Golden Age would have been a bit emptier without him. The pages are cream to off-white. According to the CGC Census this copy is tied with one other as the third highest graded copy thy have seen.
