Item numbers 946 through 2530 in auction 185
Item Description
From the very beginning of Timely/Marvel, this title was a cornerstone. It lasted, under one name or another, until 1957. This issue contains a wealth of Golden Age classics. The Human Torch, still in his blue costume, is featured in a sixteen page story by Carl Burgos. Inside that story there is a re-telling of the origin of the Human Torch. Bill Everett does a 12 page Sub-Mariner story. Paul Gustavson handles some writing. It is also the first appearance of the American Ace. Other characters include The Angel and Kazar. The 2005 Overstreet Comic Book Price guide lists this book as rare. The pages are white. According to the CGC Census, this copy is tied with one other as the highest graded copy they have seen.
