Item Description
2.75" tall silvered brass with flip-up top lid and with match striker on underside of bottom panel. Side panels are wrapped in celluloid. Front shows workman in overalls holding a wrench and pointing to the illustration of an industrial lathe. Side panels read "Engine-Turret-Gap Lathes" and on the opposite panel "The Rahn-Carpenter Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A." Celluloid includes maker's name of Whitehead & Hoag (see following item) along with a patent date that appears to read "1908." From the Ed Potter/Hake collections and essentially Mint.
