Auction #182 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1499 in auction 182
Item Description
1.5" fully three dimensional exact replica of a lobster claw. Top edge has small loop holding a small wire that wraps around the claw to keep it closed. This wire is popped loose and then the lower claw opens on a hinge so that a cigar end can be placed between a pair of blades to be cut off. Claw end has small series of links which join to the loop of a 6" chain with a clip on the opposite end. The back of the clip has a 1903 patent date and it is very likely the entire piece is from that time period. Beautifully constructed and essentially Mint as issued. One of the best figural cigar cutters we've seen.
