Auction #187 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 926 in auction 187
Item Description
1.75" with only small stain area on one of the best ever button designs. Artwork depicts ship at dockside with tall, skinny Uncle Sam embracing and lifting Roosevelt who is in safari outfit with "T.R." on his hat brim. On the right side are numerous pieces of his luggage, several with his "T.R." initials and with a rifle resting on a bed roll. A pair of lions walk down the gangplank while in the bkg. are small animal heads including a hippo, giraffe and zebra. Celluloid is perfectly centered and with full gloss. There is a small area left and below Uncle Sam's boot with noticeable stain but 98% of the surface is problem free. The W&H backpaper has brown aging in the same small spot. Our Hake collection example exceeded $5,500. This example, although not perfect, is extremely presentable.
