Item Description
1.25" button showing Howdy as he looked when this button was offered March 23, 1948 as part of the Howdy Doody For President campaign. At that time, the show was being carried on only 5 stations and the offer was made 7 times. NBC was astonished by 60,000 requests and this button premium offer inspired Colgate, Continental Baking, Ovaltine and Mars candy to quickly sign on as show sponsors. A few months later, Howdy was re-designed to the more familiar look we know today. Small raised bump on edge as made, noticeable only to touch. NM as issued. Historic.
