Item Description
First, and first we've seen, is very early 1.5" in sepia showing the product of "The Columbia Incandescent Lamp Co." from St. Louis and with added text "Highest Maintenance Of Candle Power/Greatest Uniformity." Couple tiny tan marks on extreme lower edge at five o'clock. Reverse is a very unusual construction that features an 1/8" wide flat collet and a fixed horizontal bar pin. Earliest we've seen to advertise a bulb. Next is 1.25" with W&H paper with excellent graphics promoting "Buffalo General Electric Light." Used 1900-1912 and NM displaying Mint. Last is 1.75" with W&H paper c. 1915 with front text "Edison Dealers Caravan Convention." This shows Arab on rearing horse. Man holds aloft a rifle while in background is a camel caravan and the three pyramids on the Giza plateau. Only the second we've seen and NM displaying Mint. See next related lot.
