Item Description
1.25" button with W&H back paper used only 1900-1912 and consistent with the vehicles of the Lion Motor Car Company built 1909-1912 in Adrian, Michigan. The Lion featured a 4-cylinder 40 HP engine. The lion displayed on this button has an open mouth with the numeral "40" at the center. Rim text promotes "Electric City Auto Co. Scranton, Pa." Back paper has 1/8" dark spot on extreme edge and cello by the collet has about a dozen pinpoint age spots plus a single 1/8" cello split at 12 o'clock and this makes the very faintest off color dot when viewed from the front. The front of the button remains about 98% Mint and with high gloss. Only example we've seen in our 49 years.
