Item Description
Wonderful 1.75" button pictures both fanciful and actual flying machines. No back paper but known to have been made by Los Angeles Badge And Mfg. Co. in several different color varieties. While all are scarce (including a 6" version that realized over $1200 in Auction #214) we find this bw/gold one both particularly scarce and particularly striking in its graphics. Officially known as the "Los Angeles International Air Meet" this was among the earliest air shows in the world. It was held in Los Angeles County at Dominguez Field and the 11 day run brought out 254,000 people. Slightest age tone trace on the back along the collet but the front is NM displaying Mint.
