Item Description
Adult-sized costume includes 19.5" dia. by 35" tall molded vinyl peanut body that comes w/13" tall, 19.25" dia. molded vinyl top hat. Together, main costume stands 46" tall. Made c. 1960s and for Plasters promotional appearances. Plastic peanut body has arm holes (w/foam padding for shoulders) and three holes on each side at top for ventilation. Additional ventilation holes at eyes and mouth. All covered by fine wire mesh attached to interior via a series of tiny metal grommets. Pair of metal handles at bottom sides for securing costume. Metal latching system at top of head to connect hat to body. Top of hat has large area open for ventilation w/same fine wire mesh cover. Additional ventilation hole at back of hat. Raised "Mr. Peanut" name on hat band. Comes w/pair of spat shoe covers that have some scattered aging and white cotton gloves, one with heavy staining. Also included is wooden cane. Costume has scattered wear and aging. Fine/VF overall. Comes w/13.5x16.5" framed photo showing this very costume as used at Yankee Stadium in the 1970s, w/costume-wearer standing next to Reggie Jackson. Great for display.
