This classic toy's popularity saved the Lionel Corp. from bankruptcy during the Depression. 8x11.25x2.25" tall wonderfully illustrated box contains 9" long wind-up toy w/replacement key and eight original curved track sections. Box shows scattered wear/aging w/.5" tear to lid corner and edge rubs. Fine overall. 4.5" tall composition figures of Mickey and Minnie Mouse are attached to painted metal hand car, this is red variety (also known in green, orange and maroon). Mickey and Minnie's legs have been professionally replaced, Minnie wears a wooden hat and has her original tail. Mickey is missing his. Toy works and travels around and figures move as if controlling the handcar but bell does not ring. Toy shows minimal general wear. Minnie has a .75" hairline to upper back. Mickey has 5/8" hairline crack to upper back. Both figures o/w retain choice paint. Fine overall.
