Item Description
First is 7/8" and Hake #86. Includes slogan "With Malice Toward None/With Charity For All" and naming "Governor Alfred E. Smith." This is a young photo of Smith but the button itself is likely from 1928 as it carries a reverse back paper reading "Compliments M.A. Daly New Haven Conn." This is followed by .75" button with the same young photo and with text "Democratic Candidate A.E. Smith." This is Hake #87. Reverse has .25" cello split but with cello laying flat. Front has very slightly darker mark on his forehead. There is also a .25" diagonal scratch on the right but just showing in reflected light for the most part. Last four items are 9/16" to 1". The first two are in brass with the first reading "Al Smith" and the second a brass oval around foil reading "For President/Al Smith/Our Favorite." Last two items simply read "Smith" with the second being a lapel stud. The Hake #'s in order are 49, 50, 98, 68. Minor luster loss off the brass oval but all are NM displaying Mint. Don & Mildred Wright Collection.
