Ribbon reads "Mitchell Day Oct. 29, 1901" w/1.5" two sided medal hanging below. Medal has high relief portrait on front and "United We Stand Divide We Fall" around rim and "United Mine Workers Of America" around inner circle w/graphic of shaking hands. Ribbon has moderate overall wear consistent w/age and minor use. Medal has only light surface wear. Exc. Given the weight of the medal and the thinness of the ribbon it's unlikely many of these survived in such nice condition. First we can recall in our 49 years. Ted Watts Collection.
