Original cardboard box w/illustrated lid label contains 6.25" tall celluloid head/body w/painted tin legs/boot tops, wind-up motor inside body and built-in key. Made in Occupied Japan by Nakamura, 1948 but both toy and box are of pre-war design, reissued in the 1940s. Box is complete w/cardboard inserts and shows even aging w/scattered wear including some edge creases and hairline along majority of right side of label. Box staples have oxidation w/some staining to box. Fine overall. Toy works well, causing cast metal feet to move in walking motion. Some lt. scattered aging but celluloid remains free of any cracks/dent. VF/Exc. overall. Rare toy w/even rarer box.
