Item Description
Big 1.75" version of design typically in the 1.25" size with text. This version without text implies use by a W&H salesman and the W&H back paper was in use only 1900-1912. The collet is seated more deeply than usual so only about two thirds of the brass pin lays beneath collet with rest laying outside the channel. Pin is firmly anchored and stays in place. Fabulous color and among the very best Uncle Sam and July 4th designs from color plate page #161. Only known example. Rare. Comes w/Hake's COA. NM displaying Mint.
