This watch in this style case was introduced in 1938 but w/silver luster case. This is the much rarer "Gold Electro-Plated" case variety produced from 1939-1942 and issued in several slightly different box varieties. This is the first box variety from 1939 identifiable as such due to the rectangular shape of the clear plastic lid which does not have red stripes on right/left sides. This plastic cover includes "Ingersoll Mickey Mouse" text on front edge, Mickey and Minnie Mouse portraits on the top. This fits over cardboard box bottom complete w/insert and original guarantee folder. Plastic lid is missing 1" piece at one corner and has two .5" splits at another and a .25" split at another corner. Good/VG. Box bottom has some corner tip wear and insert has 7/8" tear. Fine overall. Box comes w/original cardboard slipcase w/stamped "Mickey Mouse - Gold - Leather" note on side and printed dealer notice on underside. Slip has inked note on top and shows moderate wear. VG/Fine. 1x1.5" case watch w/original leather band. Some aging to gold luster but much remains. Fine overall. Dial features full body image of Mickey Mouse, whose animated hands point to numerals. Dial has trace of aging. Dial displays Exc. Working. A highly sought after character timepiece.
