The 'Boston Vocalist," & Purchaser Of the $625 Ticker For The First Concert Of The Sweedish [sic] Nightingale In Boston." Dodge was singer/promoter who quickly grew enamored w/Lind, a Swedish opera singer known as the "Swedish Nightingale." One of the most highly regarded singers of the 19th century, her popular concert tour of America began in 1850 when Dodge's purchase of the first ticket for the impressive price of $625 created a media firestorm for Barnum.
