Item Description
This rare 1942 ring was offered by Kix Cereal as a bounce-back offer with Lone Ranger military rings in April, 1942. General Mills received 85 requests. Following the General Mills offer, the ring was also offered very briefly by Kellogg's this time offered as a 'gold ore' ring. The brass ring has adjustable bands. Each side of the ring has an area with small irregular marks apparently representing the surface of a meteor. Top has a metal rim with a clear celluloid cover over small rock pebbles. Tiny bit of luster off the narrow front and back edges of the base surrounding the opening for a finger but overall the piece still retains about 90% of its high luster finish. Only our third or fourth example over 38 years. A beautiful example of a rare ring.
