Item Description
2.5x3.5". The 1975 Topps set features perhaps the most colorful border design of all-time and is widely considered to be the most beloved baseball card set of the 1970s. In addition, the '75 Topps series has long been recognized as including the top rookie card class of the modern era. Other popular card features include a facsimile autograph on front and a cartoon trivia fact along with complete stats on back. George Brett is fondly remembered for his all out assault on the hallowed .400 batting mark in 1980, falling just short at season's end and finishing with a .390 batting average, highest in more than half a century. An image of Brett is also etched in baseball fan's memories forever as his home run from the infamous "Pine Tar Game" gave his Kansas City team the lead but was taken off the scoreboard by the umps. Along with Mike Schmidt of the senior circuit, Brett is widely considered one of the top 5 third baseman in baseball history. George was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999.
