3.5x5.5" vintage matte postcard depicting 14 team members in full uniform along with a young mascot posed on a ballfield with period baseball equipment in the foreground. Photographer's credit on back reads "Stille Studios, 842 Broad St., Augusta, GA". Although we have been unable to identify the team pictured, we believe it to be very likely that this 1910's-era ball club was from the Augusta, Georgia area as most photography studios would focus primarily on local sports teams from their own area. Individuals pictured appear to be an even mix of African American ballplayers along with their Hispanic teammates. Image quality of the photograph is superb, displays moderate, even corner wear with some staining visible on the upper corners. Unused, divided postcard back remains blank with CYKO stamp box dating the postcard to 1904-1920's. Foxing around edges on back. Fine. From The Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
