Item Description
Hasbro, ©1965. Marketed as "The Doll With... The Tear," this wide-eyed sad-looking doll was obviously influenced by the then popular artwork of Margaret Keane, though Keane and her husband were not part of the design team for this doll. Doll's box tagline was "I Need Someone To Love Me - I Want To Learn To Play - Please Take Me Home With You And Brush My Tear Away." This references the separate clear plastic tear on the doll's cheek, which is often missing. This example is complete w/original tear, stretched elastic headband, burlap dress, panties and safety pin in back. Doll has some aging but appears unused and is VF. One of Hasbro's most unusual creations.
