Item Description
5x11". Prior to his election, John A. Andrew provided legal counsel for John Brown after the Harper's Ferry Raid in 1859 and Andrew was viewed as a radical abolitionist. He won his gubernatorial election in 1860, and was a leading force in the efforts of enlisting African Americans into the Union Army during the Civil War. Staining along the extreme outer edges w/ a horizontal crease in the center of imagery at top. Moderate edge wear. Fine.
