Item Description
6x12.5". Features the 1876 Republican national ticket at the top w/ "Prohibition and Equal Rights" promoting a Prohibition Party state ticket. John I. Baker was the gubernatorial nominee and received just under 5% of the total vote in MA. Green Clay Smith, the Prohibition Party nominee for president in 1876, was not on the ballot in MA, and as a result, the Massachusetts Prohibitionists endorsed Hayes. Some areas of long along the top and bottom edges, as well as a few faint scattered stains. VG, will frame above grade.
