This Apple is to call your attention to Samuel Adams, strong business man, editor, orchardist and candidate for the Vice-Presidential nomination. Win with Adams and old fashioned Americanism." Moderate wear on ribbon w/ scattered creasing and handling. VF. Cello has only minor wear and is Exc.  Adams was a farmer and editor of an agricultural magazine in Virginia. He believed that his strong agrarian roots and the fact that he was a southerner made him an appealing candidate that had the potential to turn the "Solid South" into Republican territory. In the days leading up to the convention, he handed out free apples from his own farm to anyone who visited his headquarters, branding them his "Adams Apples." His longshot bid for the VP nomination never gained significant traction, w/ the nomination ultimately going to Calvin Coolidge.
