Item Description
1-3/8x2.25". The W512 multi-sport set consists of 60 cards. Subjects are culled from such athletic pursuits as baseball, boxing, golf, and tennis, as well as aviators and Hollywood celebrities. Originally printed in strips and then hand-cut, card fronts feature a crude color drawing of its subject against a solid background; the card number printed at the bottom left corner. Card backs are blank. Conspicuous in its absence is any reference to a manufacturer.

Grover Cleveland Alexander (1887-1950), nicknamed "Old Pete," a MLB pitcher who played for the Philadelphia Phillies (1911-1917), Chicago Cubs (1918-1926) and St. Louis Cardinals (1926-1929). He was a three-time Triple Crown winner and 1926 World Series champ. Alexander was inducted into the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1938.
