Item Description
George "Farmer" Bell (1874-1941) was a Major League Baseball pitcher, pitching w/the Brooklyn Superbas/Dodgers for five seasons, debuting w/the Brooklyn Superbas April 17, 1907 and making his last MLB appearance w/the Dodgers on July 13, 1911. His stat include a 43-79 win-loss record, a 2.85 ERA and 376 strikeouts. Offered here is a 11.5x13" framed display featuring Bell's 1911 T205 gold border baseball card issued by The American Tobacco Company. 1-7/16x2-5/8". The T205 issue consists of 209 different cards, although just 198 players are represented in the T205 set - a few multiple poses and some variations account for the higher total. Border graphics of varying types, usually incorporating team logos and equipment, identified the respective league. Facsimile signatures crossed a portion of many ballplayers' depictions, as is the case here. Card has been professionally and attractively quadruple-matted and relief mounted. Top mat has been intricately cut, making for a wonderful display w/included brass nameplate w/card information.
