Item Description
7.25" long. Silk. Portrait of Taylor in military uniform w/patriotic frame around him. Below portrait is facsimile signature as well as text reading "The Peoples Choice". This ribbon was initially produced for Taylor's inauguration but was later retooled as a mourning ribbon. Text overprinted on bottom provides Taylor's death date (July 9, 1850). Area of thinness along top edge in center as well as some faint staining along left edge. Stain just above "Choice". VF. An unusual addition to any Zachary Taylor display.
