Item Description
First is 7/8" litho that reads "1863-Diamond Jubilee-1938/New Crusade For Liberty/NAACP Education The Ballot." Tiny dots of missing paint at 6 o'clock along extreme outer edge. Otherwise light wear. Extremely Fine. Second is .75" w/scattered staining and cello cut from 12 to 3 o'clock along outer edge. Technically Fair, but displays above grade. Moorfield Storey was a lawyer and civil rights leader based in Boston, MA. He was the first president of the NAACP. He served as the counsel in the Buchanan v. Warley case in 1917 which was viewed as a landmark victory against racial segregation. In 1918, the NAACP led an effort to enlist 50,000 new members and named the drive in honor of Storey.
