Item Description
Beautifully shaded b/w 1-3/8" button without dot pattern of him in floral motif buckskin jacket, same photo as previous sepia button used in the USA. Text below image: "Copyright/Col. W.F. Cody/Buffalo Bill." We've seen two examples of this English issued button in a 1.5" size and both had no back paper. This 1/8" smaller size does have a partially tanned back paper with center text "Buffalo/Bill's Wild West/And Congress Of/Rough Riders Of/The World." Surrounding edge text names maker as "Merchants' Portrait Co. Kentish Town Road, London, N.W." Exc. Rare.
