Item Description
1.25" w/ Wm. H. Williams Co. back paper. Additional text reads "Bread-Butter and Business." Light scattered surface wear. Glossy. Still Exc. Button from Daugherty's 1916 bid for the Republican Senate nomination in Ohio. He ultimately lost to former Governor Myron Herrick. He served as King-maker to Harding's presidential aspirations and behind closed doors was able to negotiate Harding's nomination at the 1920 Republican convention. Daugherty was rewarded for his efforts and Harding appointed him Attorney General. He was implicated in the Teapot Dome Scandal and was forced to resign in 1924.
