Item Description
1.5". No maker. Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party attempted to be seated as a legitimate delegation at the 1964 DNC and expected the support of LBJ but he feared a general walk-out by southern Democrats and opposed the seating of the MFDP. Humphrey offered a compromise but this was rejected by the group. The group's delegates staged a sit-in on the convention floor but were removed by security guards and left the convention feeling betrayed. Scattered moisture spotting along the edges, most notably at 4 and 6 o'clock. Fine. See other "One Man One Vote" varieties.
