Item Description
1x7x8.75" cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains set designed by Fawcett Publications for Hobby Notes (who made a matching Mary Marvel set), 1946. End panel text: "Captain Marvel Notepaper For The Young American Boy". Lid features illustration of Captain Marvel holding one of the 15 enclosed sheets of illustrated stationery (plus 1 bonus sheet of Mary Marvel paper). Set has 9 envelopes. Issued w/18 of each. Lid has lt. aging/wear, dust soiling and aging w/slight inward warp and splits on either end. Displays VG. Paper sheets w/"Captain Marvel Hobby Notes" paper band and are aged w/some tanning (a few more than others) but all remain unused. VG to VF. Scarce. Harry Matetsky Collection.
