Item Description
14x22" original cardboard window card promoting American jazz drummer, singer, and bandleader "Ray McKinley And The Glenn Miller Band"on "Thursday July 26th". Top of poster boasts venue slogan "Where All Muskoka Dances..." above original name "Dunns Pavilion Bala" which is now known as "The KEE to Bala" after the name was changed in the late 1960s. Originally purchased in 1929 by Gerry Dunn, it was renovated in 1930 w/the intent to attract bands to the small town of Bala, Ontario, Canada. Handwritten "1962" in pencil at bottom right corner. Bottom edge fraying from center to left of center, corner bumps and scattered light creasing to right side border above and below center, otherwise vivid and clean lettering. Fine. Strong color and design make this an eye grabbing wall worthy pick.
