Item Description
3.5x5.5" vintage matte postcard depicting a colorized team image of ten ballplayers in full uniform along w/two gentlemen dressed in formal attire and posed on a ballfield w/baseball equipment prominently displayed in the foreground. Team identification at top reads "Oakland Park Baseball Team, Lowell, Ind." while bottom notes "Champions of Northern Indiana, Season 1907." Divided postcard back has typed dates "Sunday June 7,08." and "Sunday June 2I. 08." w/town names "Lowell - I. Momence." in addition to addressee information and has been postally used w/a cancellation stamp dated June, 1908. Minimal paper loss in stamp box w/glue residue remaining and minor chipping to edges on front w/a 2" vertical crease at top center. VG. From the Richard Merkin Collection.
