Item Description
2x3". Little is known about this issue. The complete set consists of 231 "cards" that are actually stickers to be used with an accompanying album. There are subsets for the Santurce All-Star Team (#1-#9), Ponce All-Star Team (#10-#18), and Roberto Clemente (#198-#206) composite photos. Several former Negro League players are found within the set, as are a number of young major leaguers that were getting in extra Winter work in Puerto Rico.
Trouppe was a star catcher of the Negro Leagues and made his MLB debut for the Cleveland Indians at 39 years of age in 1952 becoming one of the oldest rookies in MLB history. Richard Merkin Collection.
