Item Description
2x3.7/8". The 1954 Johnston Cookies Braves baseball set consists of 35 cards and is confined to the Milwaukee Braves. This is the second installment of three consecutive releases with each card number being the player's actual uniform number, from 1-48. With Bobby Thomson suffering an injury early in the season, an opening in the lineup arose which Hank Aaron filled. The Thomson card was therefore withdrawn from the set, creating a scarcity of the card. The fronts display a photograph of the player and his name printed and signed at the bottom of each. The backs shows the player's personal details as well as his statistics from the previous season(s).

Spahn (1921-2003) was an American professional baseball left-handed pitcher who played 21 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). 17 time All-Star, Cy Young Award and World Series champion. Elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1973. Spahn's autograph is distinct and well placed. This signed copy is one of only three examples ever graded by PSA with only one other ever graded higher.
