Item Description
2.5x3.75". The 1953 Bowman set consists of 160 cards. Noted for their domineering, vivid photographic images and considered among the most beautiful modern-era sets of baseball cards produced, the set offered facial details and uniform features never before seen on any predecessor.

Monford Merrill "Monte" Irvin was an American left fielder and right fielder in the Negro leagues and Major League Baseball (MLB) who played with the Newark Eagles (1938-1942, 1946-1948), New York Giants (1949-1955) and Chicago Cubs (1956). Irvin was a World Series Champion in 1954. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1973. The autograph on the card is distinct and well placed. This signed copy is one of only four examples graded by PSA at this level with only 7 ever graded higher.
