Typed information as issued includes the recipient name "Tom Reekie", "SAM MELE", "KAY RUBINO" and the last portion of the date "53" and "54" and printed text info includes "This is to certify that...is a member of the "MELE'TTS" THE OFFICIAL SAM MELE FAN CLUB...From 19...to 19...HONORARY PRESIDENT...ACTIVE PRESIDENT" Very rare membership club card, not just the only third party graded example, but the only one we have seen or offered in our 58 years. Card has rounded corners as made. Card remains bright and clean. Eye appeal far exceeds the designated grade, which takes into account added typed information as issued. However, this should not be looked at as a defect.
Sabath Anthony "Sam" Mele (1922 - 2017) was an American right fielder, manager, coach and scout in Major League Baseball. As a manager, he led the Minnesota Twins to their first American League championship in 1965.
