Item Description
From the 2-1/8" Yankees team series and one of the final to be issued, c. 1960, his first year with the team. No maker. Spring pin holds ribbon, plastic baseball bat and baseball. Shown in his Yankees cap, he played for the team 1960-1966. Lt. age to ribbon and charms. Small, faint stain on rim at seven o'clock. Lt. surface wear only seen in reflected light. Still bright and glossy. Fine. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
Edmund Walter Lopat (originally Lopatynski) was a Major League Baseball pitcher, coach, manager, front office executive, and scout. He played for the Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles. Some career highlights include being an All-Star in 1951, the AL ERA leader in 1953 and a five-time World Series Champion.
