Item Description
Both are 2.25x3.75 card stock w/blank backs. Fronts have printed text noting recipient is a club member and each has same inked name of "Tom Reekie." Each also notes the club President. Tom joined many baseball fan clubs in the 1950s and we have sold other only known membership cards he once owned, including one for Jackie Robinson.
Both are very rare cards, not just the only third party graded examples, but the only we have seen or offered of either in our 58 years. Eye appeal far exceeds the designated grade, which takes into account added inked name as issued. However, this should not be looked at as a defect. While these both have very simple designs, the rarity and fact they are for two of the greatest baseball players of all-time are the key selling points. The Splendid Splinter was inducted into the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1966 followed by Stan The Man in 1969.
