Item Description
27.75x33.75" frame contains large and impressive cardboard advertising standing depicting full body image of Popeye on makeshift raft, raising spyglass to his eye w/open can of spinach behind him. Text on "sail" made from shirt reads "Blow Me Down! Popeye Sweat Shirts And Polo Shirts By Norwich." 1930s. Norwich was famous for their lines of licensed character clothing, featuring Disney characters, Superman, Lone Ranger and more. Standee shows some scattered edge/corner tip wear w/small spot of moisture staining at left edge in front of spyglass. Fine/VF overall, but retains strong color and displays well as professionally double-matted and framed under UV plexiglas. Ready for display. Rare and the only example we've offered in our 58 years.
