Item Description
10x13.25". Published in 1874 by Wm. A. Pond & Co. Composed by W. Stuckenholz. Features five men, including Presdient Grant and Benjamin Butler, w/an "inflation" balloon in the center. By 1874, the Grant administration had become very unpopular, riddled w/scandals and the effects of the Panic of 1873. Cover and interior pages are separated from one another, but all pages are present. Moderate edge wear, w/a few tiny sections of loss in the corners. Technically Fine, but will frame well above grade. An interesting political commentary on the beleaguered Grant administration at the tail end of Reconstruction.
