Item Description
6”, no maker with black metal back and a brass bar pin for wearing plus a top edge notch to hang for display. Glued on center front is actual glossy photo 2-13/16 x 3-3/16”. Surrounding text is “Leo My Pal” next to seated lion and “Big Brave Boy” next to male convention delegate. The event took place in Los Angeles 1941 with added text “MPTO Delegates Pacific Coast Conference”. Letters stand for Motion Pictures Theatre Owners and their event took place at the Ambassador Hotel with Mary Pickford opening the convention attended by 1,000 delegates. The lion shown, posing on his stool, was actually named Tanner. He was M-G-M’s third longest used lion (22 years). Photo has tiny corner tip wear and small traces of transparent glue around two edges of the applied actual photo. Exc. Only example known to us and unique with this photo.
