Item Description
11.5x17" DC Comics/Vertigo/WildStorm artboard has pen and ink original art for alternate variant cover to Superman: Secret Origin #2, published by DC Dec. 2009. Art is by popular modern era Superman artist Gary Frank w/inks by Brad Anderson. Nicely detailed art shows Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes arriving in a futuristic Smallville. Superboy sports a Legion flight ring on his hand and is surrounded by Legion members Phantom Lass, Triplicate Girl, Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad. A scowling Brainiac 5 can be seen in the bkg. Frank's initials appear just above Phantom Girl's shoulder. Top margin has inked title and "2 Alt." issue notation. Frank's name is penciled at top as well. Art remains clean and Exc. Great example of Frank's Superman art, featuring the Man of Steel when he was the Boy of Steel.
