Item Description
2.25" w/tin back stamped by maker St. Louis Button Co. plus 1.75" vertical stickpin. Partially tinted photo to promote c. 1905 appearance w/text as if the ostrich is speaking "Meet Me At Oklahoma Races Aug. 24-29/I Will Race Every Day." Black Diamond and his owner traveled to baseball parks and county fairs where the ostrich would race (and win) against horses. There are around ten hairline cello cracks, all laying flat and barely seen, widely scattered and from a mere 1/16” to the longest at .25” near 5 o’clock edge. Full gloss and no stain. Technicaly VG, but displays above grade. One of just three known.
