Item Description
Each is 1.75” with identical W&H back papers. From Missoula, Montana to Buffalo, New York one might hear the phrase on each of these buttons: “I’m Going To Hear Roney’s Boys/Are You?” Well, between 1888 and 1913, thousands went to hear the traveling group of five musicians (they got rotated out when their voices changed) under the direction of Henry B. Roney trainer, originator and manager. On one button Scottish fashion prevails while on the other, it’s the stars and stripes (w/some barely seen pinpoint gray edge dots). Both have great color and gloss and almost no surface wear. One NM, other Exc. Both scarce.
