Item Description
2-3/8x2-7/8”. Premier baseball card issue for the Goudey Gum Co. 239 card series depicts color art reproductions of either portrait or action photos. Backs include a short player biography. Carl Hubbell, nicknamed “King Carl” and “The Meal Ticket” was a star left-handed pitcher in MLB for the New York Giants from 1928-43. Hubbell posted career numbers of 253-154 along with an ERA of 2.98 during a primarily offensive era and 1,677 strikeouts. Carl was a two-time MVP and nine-time All-Star, ultimately being elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1947. Carl has added a perfect "10" signature just below his pitching image.
